Please note: you must be at least 21 years old to attend AABG meetings.

The February meeting will be hosted by Adventures in Homebrewing in Ann Arbor, starting at 7:30PM on Friday, February 12.

Brian Lagoe will present the results of his IPA experiment comparing year-old hops to new hops at 7PM. He writes:

I’ve been brewing a lot of aggressively hoped IPAs this year using bulk purchases of fresh crop hops. And despite vacuum packing and storing them in the freezer I felt the hop intensity has been diminishing from batch to batch throughout the year.

I recently received my 2015 hops and still had just enough 2014 hops purchased a year ago to brew the same IPA. Both beers were brewed the same day and kegged just this week. I’ll bring enough of each to pass around and discuss during the 7-7:30 presentation period. I also have been spending a lot of time researching and studying different hoping techniques and I have a few really good IPA recipes to share for those interested.

The March meeting will be hosted by Adventures in Homebrewing in Ann Arbor, starting at 7:30PM on Friday, March 11.
